Topic: Northumbria Tourism Strategy

The future direction of tourism in Northumbria is currently under heated debate.

There are over 10,000 thousands of tourism related businesses in the Northumbria and many more tourism related jobs.

Much of what is being said in the discussions is not constructive and does not contribute to a solution for the tens of thousands who are affected.

How can we all work together to deliver a solution?

Your thoughts are welcome.

There is also a poll on this topic.

Well there have been no opinions expressed but we have now reached 50 votes in the poll.

Thankfully Northumbria Tourist Boad and One NorthEast appear to have reached an agreement and both have written to tourist organizations to say that the organizations are moving forward with an agreed plan.

Northumbria Tourist Board has announced that it is to disband with all staff transfering to One NorthEast. This gives tourism in the North East a tremendous boost of additional funding, strategic direction AND retaining the experienced and dedicated staff that have long server the area.

Everyone is now looking forward to a bright future for tourism in the North East.
